• Intellectual Property

We address legal issues surrounding the rights of ownership of ideas, inventions, processes, data, formulas, patents, copyrights, service marks or trademarks, the application and registration of the same and the legal or illegal use of this property.

  • Divorce, Matrimonial and Family Matters

We recognize that legal proceedings concerning marriage and family are often emotionally difficult and exhausting to face. We simplify the legal process and guide you through every stage with compassion and professionalism.

  • Maritime Law

We offer legal advice on many aspects of maritime law, including arrest/release of vessels, bills of lading, charter parties, carriage of goods by sea, cargo claims, maritime liens, marine insurance, personal injury and the law of the sea. We also handle the registration/de-registration/change of ownership of vessels, the sale/purchase/mortgage of vessels and we represent clients in High Court litigation.

  • Wills, Probate and Administration

Unfortunately we can’t predict when death or loss of capacity might occur; it could happen at any time to any of us. It is therefore advisable for every adult to make a will to ensure that their estate ends up where they intend it to after their death.

  • Property Law

Property Law covers a number of areas ranging from conveyancing to landlord and tenant issues to boundary and other property disputes.

  • Corporate Law

The decision to form a company is an important one that should not be made lightly and without legal advice. You may realize, after consultation with a lawyer, that incorporation (that is the formation of a company) is not most suited to your needs. It may be that you wish to simply register a business name.

  • Labour Law

The Protection of Employment Act 2003 is the Act that addresses the legal rights of employees and governs the relationship between employers and employees in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It repealed the Protection of Employment Act, Chapter 150 of the Laws of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and makes “further and better provisions for the promotion of the employment relationship”.

  • Commercial Law

We want to save you the stress and inconvenience of a commercial dispute by advising and assisting you before you embark on your next project or venture, but if you happen to find yourself facing such a conflict later on, we would be happy to help to resolve it, always keeping in mind your interests, objectives and budget.

  • Civil Litigation

It is a fact of life that disagreements or disputes do occasionally arise. When they do, you may wish to have them resolved by the legal system. However, litigation is a costly and time consuming route to take and as such, we explore all options for settlement before instituting legal proceedings.

Personal Injury

Personal injuries are difficult, life-altering situations that can leave you frustrated and unsure of where to turn. If you are the victim of an accident and you are injured as a result, you will need to obtain legal advice quickly on the best course of action to take. Without the guidance of an experienced lawyer, you can be overwhelmed.

We provide sound, practical and objective advice and give strong and dedicated representation with the aim of maximizing our client’s recovery in the shortest possible time. In order to bring a successful claim, you must show that you have been injured as a result of the negligence or omission of another person. You must show that the wrongdoer’s conduct fell below the standard of care that a reasonably prudent person would have exercised in a similar situation and that as a result of that want of care, you were injured.

A claim for personal injuries must be brought within three years of the date that you sustained your injury or the date you had knowledge that you had been injured. The circumstances surrounding the accident will be gathered at an initial consultation with you. If your injury prevents you from visiting our Chambers, we will be happy to come to you at home or in hospital. At that initial consultation or at a subsequent consultation, we will take a statement from you and from any other witnesses. We will then request all relevant documentation from the relevant authorities, including medical and police reports. Further, if necessary, we will arrange for a private doctor to assess your injury and obtain a report from him. Once we have properly assessed the circumstances surrounding your injury, we will be able to advise you on whether you have a claim and estimate the value of your claim.

We believe in attempting to reach a settlement by negotiation before filing a claim. Only if negotiations prove futile will we proceed to court. Whether the injury results from a motor vehicle accident, a slip or fall, an accident at work, or a dog bite, we work hard to ensure that our client is adequately compensated.
